Today sees transatlantic trio Radiant Children celebrate the release of their debut TRYIN’ EP. The five track release is a perfect introduction into the world of Radiant Children - effortlessly blending R&B, soul, funk and jazz to create one of the most original releases of the year. You can stream or purchase the TRYIN’ EP HERE.
The London based band burst onto the scene earlier this year following the release of their debut single “Life’s A Bitch” accompanied by a Matthew Castellanos visual (Tyler The Creator, Steve Lacy) which premiered on The FADER. The band quickly garnered momentum with their infectious melodies and captivating lyrics which captured the attention of the likes of MTV, Hunger and Clash Magazine as well as writer/actor/director Issa Rae who included “Life’s A Bitch” in the opening episode of HBO show “Insecure”.
Their debut EP, TRYIN’, is brimming with grit and gloss (“Go Left”), and steeped in nostalgia while still confidently modern (“Tryin’”). The release marks a fervent moment for Radiant Children as they take a wide angle view of music that brings old school rhythms a contemporary sensibility, with subtle references that span the hip-hop infused croon of Anderson .Paak to the rebellious, electric-blues attitude of Charles Bradley - all executed with appreciation, precision, and nuance.
The trio have also just announced details of their debut live show; the band are set to headline the Girls & Boys club night at London’s iconic Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen on Thursday 13th September. Tickets are on-sale now and available HERE.
